New Delhi – In a meeting called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22nd December 2022, Congress took notice of the resurging threat of the Covid-19 pandemic. Owing to this, Congress has alleged that the Central Government is targeting the Bharat Jodo Yatra citing the concern of Covid-19. Congress party has referred to the letter written by Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. In this letter, Mandaviya has appealed to Rahul Gandhi to reconsider his Bharat Jodo Yatra due to the possibility of a resurgence of the Covid-19 infection.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted, ‘In July, September, and November, 4 cases of Omicron sub-variant BF.7 were reported in Gujarat and Odisha. The Minister of Health wrote a letter yesterday. PM is reviewing the situation today. #BharatJodoYatra will enter Delhi after a day. Now you understand the chronology’. (It will not be wrong if someone says that it is Congress’ old trick to look at everything from the perspective of politics ! – Editor)

The Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached Haryana from Rajasthan on Wednesday. It will enter Delhi on 24th December.

Editorial Viewpoint

Criticising that ‘Kumbh Mela had increased the Covid-19 infection’, the so-called secularists had demanded to stop this event at that time. Now that the threat of Covid-19 has arisen again, why are the secularists not demanding to stop the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ ?
