Police vans set on fire
Auraiya (UP) – A 15-year-old dalit boy taken to a hospital due to getting beaten up by a teacher died during the treatment. This incident lead to fierce agitation which later turned violent. Police vans were set on fire and 2 private cars were vandalised. Therefore, an additional Police squad has been deployed in the District. Crime has been registered against the teacher under sections 308, 323, 504 and Atrocity laws of the Indian Penal Code.

The teacher is absconding after the incident. Currently, the situation is under control. The dalit boy had given wrong answers in the examination hence the teacher had beaten him up on 7th September. Later the boy was admitted to the hospital. The boy’s father had registered a complaint against the teacher. The teacher had assured to pay the treatment bill in the hospital, but he gave only Rs 40,000. When the balance amount was demanded, the teacher used casteist abuses, alleged the father.
