Three crore cash and 50 kg gold recovered from Mahant Narendra Giri`s room

CBI verified the room nearly a year after mahant`s death

Prayagraj (UP) – During the All-India Akhara Parishad, a team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opened the sealed room of former President Mahant Narendra Giri and found Rs 3 crore cash, 50 kg gold and Hanumaan`s gold crown and gold Kada and armband in the room. All this was kept in the iron cupboard. Apart from this, registry papers of property worth crores and 9 quintals of country-made ghee have also been recovered.

A year after Mahant’s death, CBI opened the room in which Narendra Giri’s body was found. Mahant`s cause of death is still unclear. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the room.  A suicide note was also recovered from the room. disciples of Mahant Narendra Giri, Anand Giri, Aadhya Prasad Tiwari and his son Sandeep Tiwari were arrested in this case. In this case, Balveer Giri, the current Mahant of Baghambari Math, had demanded the Court to open the sealed room of Narendra Giri after which the CBI opened the sealed room.
