Lucknow (UP) – The Police have arrested Taufeeq in connection with the vandalism of 2 Idols in the ‘Latae Hanuman Mandir’ near Teele Wali Masjid. At present, the Police have stepped up security here. Police are investigating further. Regarding the incident, local MLA Neeraj Bora said that the motive might be to create a riot.

According to the temple priests, the Idols of Deity Shani and Deity Hanuman were vandalised. While Mangal Mahotsav was going on here, a person entered the temple and vandalised the Idols chanting Jai Shri Ram. The devotees present in the temple caught him and handed him over to the Police. He said his name was Taufeeq. (Please note that Taufeeq pretended to be a Hindu while vandalising the Idols by chanting Jai Shriram and tried to prove that a Hindu was desecrating it – Editor)

• There is a need for a blasphemy law to punish those who attack Hindu Temples with capital punishment. The Central Government should respect the sentiments of Hindus.
