Samajwadi Party MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq opposes ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – As India is celebrating 75 years of Independence, the Central Government is implementing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from 2nd to 15th August. The Government has appealed people to put up the tricolour on every house in the country.

This has been opposed by Samajwadi Party MP from Uttar Pradesh Shafiqur Rahman Barq. He said, “This is the flag of the country. Citizens of this country flaunt it; therefore, why should this be applied to houses ? BJP does not treat us as belonging to this country. Whoever wishes, will put this flag on the house. Is patriotism going to be proved just by hoisting the flag ?”

MP Burq added that the Constitution does not mandate this; therefore, what is the need for such a campaign ? The BJP is propagating its party through every campaign and policy.
Editorial viewpoint
Those who do not love the tricolour, this country and its soil will raise such questions. Such statements show how unpatriotic they are. |
