Washington (USA) – Speaking at a panel on religious freedom in India, the US ambassador at large for international religious freedom Rashad Hussain said, ‘The rights of religious minorities in India are in crisis. There is a risk of mass killings of minorities’. Hussain is of Indian descent.
The US ambassador at large for international religious freedom Rashad Hussain warned that an early warning project ranked the risk of mass killings in India as the second highest in the world.

Hussain added, ‘We have seen incidents like attacks on churches in India, as well as ban on hijab. One minister even said that Muslims in India are termites. The rights of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Dalits, tribals etc. should be protected in India. India is one of the largest democracies. The United States wants the full participation, equal participation of all people there as the United States’.
