Chandigarh – A viral video shows two drunk youth on the river banks pouring beer on a Shivalinga. There is a Shiva-related song playing in the background. One of the youths is a resident of sector 26 of Chandigarh. Hindu Parishad has warned to protest in front of Police stations against this incident. Giri Panchanan of Parishad said,” We will not tolerate insults of our Deities. If the Police does not take any action against them then Hindu Parishad will protest on the street.

The Police said,” We have received the viral video and information about this incident. The matter is under investigation by the Cyber Crimes. The accused will face action.”

Since there is no law against denigration of Deities, anyone can get away with abusing Hindu Dharma. The Central Government should seriously enact a law to prohibit such incidents. |
