Mumbai – We will not allow injustice against the Muslim community. If the loudspeakers on mosques are removed forcibly, then the Republican Party activists will protect the mosques, said Ramdas Athawale, President of the Republican Party of India.

Ramdas Athawale said, if Hanuman Chalisa is chanted in front of mosques, we are not against it. We are against MNS’s role in removing loudspeakers from mosques. Loudspeakers should not be removed by force. They can be given instructions for lowering the volume. Although BJP has agreed to support, my party will not support MNS. This subject is religious. So far, there have been no complaints asking for the removal of loudspeakers from the mosques. (Ramdas Athavale should know that cases are being heard in the Court based on many complaints received in that regard – Editor)

Loudspeakers have been atop mosques for a long time, then why raise the issue now. They (Muslims) do not complain about our festivals. There should be no dispute between Hindus and Muslims. (According to the Court order, Hindus observe the permissible limits of the volume of loudspeakers during their festivals, then why is it a problem for religious fanatics to follow it ?)

Editorial Viewpoint

Court ordered the removal of unauthorised loudspeakers from mosques. Is it not contempt of Court for the people’s representative to protect mosques ? If the people’s representatives themselves do not abide by the Court’s order, will it be a surprise if action is demanded against them ?
