Two out of the Men`s world’s top 10 players and three out of Women`s world’s top 20 players will be out
Moscow – Russian players are expected to be banned from Wimbledon, the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament. According to England’s ‘The Guardian’ report, Wimbledon will be the first tournament to ban Russia. Russia calls this decision unacceptable. The Ukraine invasion has led to several sanctions against Russia. Kremlin spokesperson Dimitry Peskov said Russia would not accept it if the sanctions impact Tennis. He added that players should not be held ‘political hostage’ by engaging in prejudice and political conflict.

If Wimbledon bans Russian players, two Russian male players from the top ten of world rankings and three women players from the top 20 world rankings will be out of the game. This includes Men`s world No 2, Daniil Medvedev and world No 8, Andrey Rublev.
