The Russia-Ukraine border issue
New York (USA) – The increasing tensions between Russia and Ukraine is a matter of concern. India has told the UN Security Council that priority must be given to diffuse the tensions. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador TS Tirumurti said, in our view, the increasing number of soldiers on the border is not a good sign. We are confident that this matter can be solved only through discussions. These developments have the potential to undermine the peace and security of both countries.
To bring back the Indians in Ukraine is our priority !
More than 20,000 Indian students and nationals live and study in different parts of Ukraine, including in its border areas. The well-being of Indians is of priority to us. To bring them back, a special plane of Air India left for Ukraine on the 22nd of February.
