Dnyanwapi Koop and Nandi were included in Kashi-Vishwanath Corridor

In 1669 Shri Kashi-Vishwanath temple was demolished by Aurangazeb’s order and in its place, the Dnyanwapi mosque had been built. They were unsuccessful in destroying the Idol of Nandi. At that time, the Shivlinga was hidden in the Dnyanwapi Koop (well) by Mahants of the temple. Some years later Ahilyabai Holkar built a new temple next to this mosque. At that time there was no Nandi and the dnyanwapi Koop in the temple premises, but now they are being included in Kashi-Vishwanath Corridor.
