Most of the farmers are from Maharashtra

Farmers have been committing suicide for the past several years in India. However, no ruling party leader fought the battle to stop this. This situation can change only in the Hindu Rashtra.
New Delhi – Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar informed the Parliament that the number of farmers who committed suicide for various reasons is 5,579 in 2020. There is a slight drop in the number of farmers who committed suicide in 2020 compared to the year 2019 where the number was 5,957.

Tomar said the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has not given specific reasons for farmers’ suicide in its 2020 report. However, the report states the reasons for suicide as family problems, illness, drug abuse/addiction, love affairs, marriage related issues, unemployment, professional/career problem, failure in examination, property dispute.
2,567 cases were reported from Maharashtra
The total number of farmers from Maharashtra who committed suicide is 2,567. This is 43% of the total number of farmers who committed suicides in the country.
