Editorial comment
While the protest by ISKCON is commendable, drastic steps need to be taken to keep a check on religious fanatics. India must take initiative for this ! |
New Delhi – On 23rd October, ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) staged a protest near its 700 temples in 150 countries against the attacks on Hindus by religious fanatics in Bangladesh. It also demanded stern action against these fanatics.
Speaking in this regard, ISKCON spokesperson and Vice-President Radharaman Das appealed to Hindus, ‘The international community has always ignored the atrocities of the Hindu brothers in Bangladesh. In order to create global awareness about the attacks on Hindus, we will hold ‘Jagatik Kirtan Andolan’ (Global Kirtan Protest) at 700 places from Tokyo to Toronto. Hindus should go to the nearest agitation site and protest the atrocities against Hindus’.
