New Delhi – In the last few days, Hindus and Sikhs have constantly been targeted and killed by Pakistan-backed militants in Jammu and Kashmir. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Tarakishore Prasad has also demanded the cancellation of the India-Pakistan match.

Cancel the cricket match and save the country’s honour – Dr Subramanian Swamy

BJP MP and senior leader Dr Subramanian Swamy has also opposed the match. Dr Swamy tweeted, ‘What is the urgency to have a cricket match with Terror salesman Pakistan ? Does Jay Shah of BCCI know what his father is preaching as Home Minister ? Cricket playing is mandatory for Dubai Dons to make money by betting. Hence, cancel this cricket match and save the nation’s honour.’

Will you play cricket with Pakistan while soldiers are being martyred at the border ? – Asaduddin Owaisi

Hyderabad (Telangana) – “When PM Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he had told the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, ‘Soldiers are dying, and the Manmohan Singh Government is feeding biryani to terrorists’. Now that 9 soldiers have been killed in Kashmir, will you play a T20 match ? Pakistan is playing with the lives of Indians in Kashmir,” MIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Government during a rally here.

Due to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the India-Pakistan match cannot be cancelled : BCCI

Editorial comment

India’s credibility at the international level is much greater than that of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and by using it, India can pressurise the ICC and compel it to cancel the match; however, the BCCI does not have the will. As the BCCI and other organisations will get billions of rupees from this match, it is refusing to cancel this match ! Hence, the Central Government should respect the Hindus and soldiers and intervene now.

Rajiv Shukla, Vice-President of the BCCI, responded to the demands of the cancellation of the match. He said, ‘The killings in Kashmir are tragic. We condemn them. The question of the India-Pakistan match is under an international agreement of the International Cricket Council. Owing to this, we cannot refuse to play with any country. ICC tournaments have to be played’.

(BCCI doesn’t even know whether the country is great or cricket ! Today, India is the main source of funding for the ICC. If this economic advantage will not be used for the benefit of the country, then what is its use ? On the other hand, this is a good opportunity to take the issue of genocide of Kashmiri Hindus on a global platform. India should play this diplomatic ploy to expose jihadi terrorism and its sponsor Pakistan. – Editor)
