Raipur (Chhattisgarh) : Municipal Corporation carries Shri Ganesh Idols in a garbage van and throws them at the site of immersion !

The infuriating incident exposed

Hindus enraged

Editorial comments

  • Hindus should take the Congress-led Government of Chhattisgarh to task for such grave denigration of Shri Ganesh
  • Realise that at many places, there has been such denigration of Shri Ganesh but nobody has been severely punished so far ! Hindus need to unite and try to get the concerned persons legally punished !
  • Every year, denigration of Shri Ganesh Idols takes place by the Government administration; therefore, establishing Hindu Rashtra of rulers who will have bhav towards God and who will respect Hindus’ religious sentiments is the only remedy !

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, the Raipur Municipal Corporation’s administration carried Shri Ganesh Idols, under the pretext of immersion, in a garbage van and threw them in an artificial water tank. This was exposed through a video that has become viral on social media, leading Hindus to express their anger over the incident. The administration of the Municipal Corporation had collected the Idols from individual houses. Hindus have asked if the Municipal Corporation could not immerse the Idols as per the science, why did they collect the Idols. The Municipal Administration and the Government are responsible, therefore, Hindus have demanded immediate dismissal of the concerned Municipal officers and employees.

It is an unpardonable act of Municipal Administration ! – BJP

Mr Vishnu Deo Sai, BJP’s Regional President said on the issue that it was a habit of Congress to play with Dharma. Carrying Shri Ganesh Idols in a garbage van is a method of hurting the religious sentiments of millions of Hindus. It is an unpardonable act of the Municipal Administration. The Government should take stringent action against the responsible officers and employees.

No Idols were carried in a garbage van ! – claims Mayor Aijaz Dhebar

Giving his response on this issue, Mayor Aijaz Dhebar said that ‘none of the Idols was carried in the garbage van of Municipal Corporation. I had personally gone to ‘Mahadev Visarjan ghat’ and had discussions with the people. Few employees of the Municipal Corporation were careless at the time of immersion of Idols. They have been discharged from that particular job now. I have issued orders to change the system. Some people are, however, politicising this issue. I appeal to them that they should not bring politics into this matter.’ (Realise that although the concerned employees were relieved of this job after realising their mistake, the Mayor is silent on the query of what happened to the Ganesh Idols ! – Editor)
