Why Colonel father of an actress is always shown in a bad light in Indian films? : Questions Army Chief Naravane

Editor’s comments

  • Realise that so far no Army Chief has raised this question. It should be probed if there is any “Jihadi Conspiracy” behind tarnishing the image of the Indian Army and Army officers.
  • It is disgraceful that not a single Indian organisation or political party has ever raised their voice against the image of Army officers being badly portrayed in films.

Pune (Maharashtra) – I have seen Army officers always portrayed badly in movies. A Colonel father of a beautiful actress is always shown in a bad light. He is shown with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other. I always find this annoying. I respect freedom of expression, but I think it is important to refrain from portraying a community or an individual in this way. The Army Chief was speaking at the inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee of the Television Wing of the Film and Television Institute of India.
