Sikh organisations of Canada urge the Government of Canada to plan resettlement of Sikhs and Hindus of Afghanistan

  • Realise that despite India taking the initiative to resettle them, and India being the closest neighbouring Nation, these organisations are just seeking attention by making such a demand.
  • Earlier, the Sikh organisations of Canada had opposed the CAA bill in support of Khalistan.

Ottawa (Canada) – Sikh organisations of Canada have urged the Government of Canada to take special action to resettle Sikhs and Hindus of Afghanistan. The Manmeet Singh Bhullar Foundation, Khalsa Aid Canada, and the World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) had jointly stated in this respect. The Government of India had already declared to grant Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

As the situation in Afghanistan is getting volatile day by day, these organisations have appealed to the Canadian Government to request the Afghanistan Government to protect the Sikhs and Hindus there. The Organisation claimed that the Sikhs and Hindus had moved to India after the suicide attack on the Gurdwara, Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib in Kabul. The same kind of situation has risen again; hence, they should be given proper protection.
