Will the Muslim society accept the demand by an individual of their community ? The public should unitedly support such individuals.
Kolkata – Altab Hossain from Bengal has made a demand to stop the animal sacrifice on Bakri Eid. He had gone on fast for 72 hours to protest against the animal sacrifice. This year he celebrated Eid without having non-vegetarian food. He was upset after his brother brought home a goat for sacrifice. Husain said, “There is a lot of cruelty and no one is protesting against it. I have decided to fast for 72 hours to get people to realise that animal sacrifice is not necessary”. After watching a video of animal slaughter in 2014 he understood the cruelty against the animals. Since then he became a vegetarian.

Receives threats on social media
Three years ago, I had protested when my brother brought home an animal to sacrifice on Eid and managed to save the animal. But my family does not support me, they still believe in animal sacrifice. I am receiving threats on my social media posts for the protest against animal cruelty; while some people have extended their support for me.
