‘The present Union Government is following Pakistan !’ : K’taka Cong. Leaders B.K. Hariprasad

  • Congress State president suffers a stomach ache after students oppose support for Umar Khalid, accused of sedition

  • Anger over chargesheet not being filed against Khalid even after five years

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – During the agitation being held in Delhi against the NEET question paper leak, a student was holding a placard in support of Umar Khalid, who has been accused of sedition. Other protesting students opposed him over this. The police immediately removed the placard from the protest site. However, the Karnataka Congress has supported the student’s act.

Karnataka Congress State president B.K. Hariprasad said,

“You have kept Umar Khalid, an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case, in prison for five years. Why have you not filed a proper chargesheet against him? Is this Pakistan? The present Government is following Pakistan’s methods.”

Editorial Perspective

  • If the Union Government had adopted Pakistan’s policy, it would not have remained content with merely putting one anti-national in prison. Instead, it would have put all anti-nationals, love jihadis, land jihadis and others behind bars !
  • Although the Union Government is not following Pakistan’s policy, the Congress Government in Karnataka is following it to the letter. This is why incidents such as imposing district bans on several Hindutva-oriented leaders and failing to take appropriate action against extremists who attack Hindus are coming to light in the State !
