Hindu organisations stage protests

  • With atheist DMK Government in Tamil Nadu, it is no wonder if such incidents take place. Will the DMK ever dare to take action against illegal religious structures of other religions ?

Coimbatore (TN) – Days after the Coimbatore City Corporation demolished seven Hindu temples around the lake Muthannankulam, several devotees, Hindu activists, took to the streets of Coimbatore to protest against the demolition drive of Hindu temples. According to the reports, activists of the Hindu Munnani Organisation protested outside the Corporation Office at Town Hall in Coimbatore on 16th July to condemn the civic body’s demolition drive. Vishwa Hindu Parishad also staged a protest against the demolition. One of the temples that were demolished was hundred years old. The Corporation claimed that the temples were built on the encroached land and were demolished for beautification of the lake under Smart City Plan. (Anti-Hindu administration demolishing temples that are a source of Divine Consciousness under the pretext of Smart City Plan ! Smart cities will be shiny and beautiful, but if there are no temples, what is the use of such cities ? – Editor)

Condemning the demolition, Hindu Munnani State President Kadeswara Subramaniam said, “When P V Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister, an Act was passed in Parliament prohibiting demolition of temples older than 75 years. But the Coimbatore Corporation demolished temples that were centuries old. We strongly condemn the demolition. Several Government offices, including the Tirupur Collector’s office, are standing on temple lands. (The administration should repond to it ! – Editor) Hence, those buildings should be removed from these land”.
