Many seekers (children, youth and adults, elderly) of Sanatan Sanstha stay in Sanatan’s Ashrams to perform spiritual practice their entire lives only because of the Priti (Spiritual love without any expectation) showered on them by Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale.
He has been showering Priti on seekers everywhere.
In a similar manner, His heart beats for animals & birds. Such is the nature of His Divine love.
Here, we look at some examples of this Priti.
Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale carefully analysing the abnormal swimming pattern of a fish and suggesting necessary treatment
Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale was happy when a fish was brought to be placed in the lotus-shaped bowl at Ramnathi Ashram. He liked the fish as if it was a cute baby. Once, the fish was swimming against the current of water. Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale immediately brought this anomaly to our attention and suggested getting it examined by Dr. Ajay Joshi (who also stays in the Ashram). Upon careful examination, Dr. Joshi said the fish fins had some kind of fungal infection. Hence, it was swimming against the current of water. When the fungus was removed from the fins by Dr. Joshi, it started swimming in the usual manner. It was only because of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale’s grace that the disease of the fish was diagnosed and subsequently treated as well.

Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale keeping a teaspoon of honey & water near a butterfly which had not eaten anything for 3 days
One day, a butterfly flew in and rested on the washbasin in Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale’s room. It remained there for 3 days. On the 4th day, it came out and rested on the floor under the chair in the room where Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale usually compiles Holy Texts. After some time, He brought a teaspoon of honey & water and placed it in front of the butterfly and said to me, “The butterfly has not eaten anything for the past 3 days”. After a few minutes, it flew and rested on the floor under the table. Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale again placed the honey & water on the spot where butterfly was earlier. This reminded me of a wellknown incident related to Sant Eknath Maharaj, in which He chased a dog to feed it ghee ! The butterfly did not eat anything till the noon. It breathed its last under the chair. I felt as if it had flown to Paratpar Guru’s room for a Holy reason and it was to die at His Holy feet. This awakened my bhav. – Ms. Priyanka Lotlikar, Sanatan Ashram, Ramnathi, Goa.
Through such and many other incidents, bhav (Spiritual emotion) gets awakened upon observing the Priti Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale bestows on animals, birds; for that matter on every living creature on this earth. We are grateful unto the Holy feet of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale who is truly an ocean of Priti.
Taking care of a butterfly so that it gets sound sleep
A butterfly caught my attention when I went to the balcony attached to Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale’s room in Ramnathi Ashram. I was tempted to touch the butterfly. When I took a step towards the butterfly, Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale cautioned me not to since it was sleeping. He said, ‘Let it get sound sleep’. I went to the butterfly two hours later and touched it; it could barely fly. I sensed some sort of injury to its leg. When I told this to Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale, He said, ‘Keep it on the window sill where it can get some warmth from sunlight. It could not fly because of cold !’ (This incident took place in the midst of winter.) I immediately placed the butterfly on the sill. After some time, when I tried to help, it fluttered its wings freely. When I told Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale about this improvement, He was very happy for the butterfly. He placed it lovingly on His palm (See photo on left) and asked me to bring some water. He then helped the butterfly drink some water. – Mrs. Vardini Goral, Sanatan Ashram, Ramnathi, Goa
A horse shed tears of joy when it experienced the Divine touch of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale
The sankalp for a Ashwamedha Yajna to be performed by H.H. Narayan (Nana) Kaleguruji took place at the Ramnathi Ashram. The horse for the Yajna (which was to continue for a year in Barshi, in Solapur District) was first brought to the Ramnathi Ashram. Later, it was taken back to Barshi. After a year, it was decided that the horse will be gifted to a seeker. H.H. Kaleguruji brought it to Ramnathi Ashram so that Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale could bestow His blessings before it was given to the seeker. When the horse was to leave the Ashram, Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale came to the horse and gently touched its forehead. At that moment, the horse shed tears of joy as if it also experienced the Priti that Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale bestows on all creatures. – Ms. Priyanka Lotlikar, Sanatan Ashram, Ramnathi, Goa.
