Currently, the highly contagious coronavirus has spread rapidly and widely in India and throughout the world. This has disrupted daily life everywhere and common people are afraid of death. In such a situation, there is a possibility of manifestation of personality defects such as disturbed mind due to minor reasons, anxiety, restlessness due to fear. To remain steady and overcome the situation, perform physical, mental and spiritual remedies.

1. Remedial measures required at the physical level to prevent coronavirus infection

A. Strictly follow the rules laid down by the Government.

B. If you are infected by coronavirus, immediately take medical advice and start medication.

C. To enhance immunity, take Homoeopathic and Ayurvedic medicines and decoctions as adviced by Vaidyas.

2. Remedial measures required at the mental level to increase mental strength

If you feel afraid with the thoughts of death, taking proper autosuggestions will help overcome the situations and remain steady. Some autosuggestions are given ahead to increase mind power and stay calm.

A. Incorrect thought : Fear with a thought that ‘I will be infected with coronavirus’.

Autosuggestion : Whenever I feel afraid with the thought that ‘I will be infected with coronavirus’, I will remind myself that I am taking all necessary precautions, and I will remain in Divine thoughts by utilising maximum time in chanting and praying.

B. Incorrect thought : Fear that ‘I will die if I am infected with coronavirus’.

Autosuggestion No. 1 : Whenever I get the thought that ‘I will die if I am infected with coronavirus’, I will remember that 80% of patients infected with coronavirus have mild illness. With this awareness, I will remain positive and take care of my health by following the guidelines given by family members, well-wishers and Government agencies.

Autosuggestion No. 2 : Whenever I get the thought that ‘I will die if I am infected with coronavirus’, I will remember that the time of death is fixed by God. Therefore, man can die any time, not only because of coronavirus, but also due to any other reason. I will focus on spiritual practice to make human life meaningful.

(Note : Select one of the two suggestions that suit your temperament.)

C. Incorrect thought : Feeling stressed that ‘I don’t have enough mental strength to face such a difficult situation’.

Autosuggestion : Whenever I feel stressed that ‘I don’t have enough mental strength to face such a difficult situation’, I will realise that ever-compassionate God is with me in good as well as difficult situations. He will increase my mental strength by guiding me on what I need to do specifically in adverse situations. Thus, I will have strong faith in God.

D. Incorrect thought : Feeling worried that despite medication, my daughter’s cold/fever is not subsiding.

Autosuggestion : When my daughter has a long running cold/fever, I will realise that not every cold/fever is due to infection. I will have faith in God and give her medicines as advised by the doctors and will inform them about her status from time to time.

3. Duration and frequency of autosuggestions

If you have any of the abovementioned incorrect thoughts, tension or worry, take the related autosuggestion for 15 days or till such thoughts reduce. These autosuggestion sessions should be done 5-times-a-day. Take one autosuggestion 5 times during each session. Autosuggestions can be taken for any other incorrect thoughts which cause stress, tension, worry, etc.

4. Concentrate while taking autosuggestions and experience reduction of inappropriate thoughts within a short time

Many people have experienced that if autosuggestions are taken with concentration, they have faster effect on the subconscious mind and the thoughts of stress or anxiety reduce in a short time. Hence, take autosuggestions with concentration. If you cannot autosuggestions with concentration due to unnecessary thoughts, they can be mutterred or read from the paper on which they are written. This will automatically reduce the attention to unnecessary thoughts, and the autosuggestions will be effective. While taking the autosuggestion, make sure that others are not disturbed.

(To eliminate psychological problems, taking autosuggestions is a part of the personality defects removal process (PDR). Information on the complete PDR process is given in Sanatan’s Text series – ‘Personality Defects removal and Ego removal [7 Volumes].)

5. Remedies to be performed at a spiritual level to gain Divine strength to get protected from the coronavirus pandemic

A. Chant mantras to increase immunity and spiritual strength : To prevent getting infected, perform mantra-remedies along with medical treatment as a preventive measure, to increase immunity and spiritual strength. For this, during the coronavirus pandemic, chant ‘Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Shri Gurudev Datta – Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Shri Durgadevyai Namaha – Om Namaha Shivaya’.

B. Start performing spiritual practice to survive the adverse times and increase it : Coronavirus pandemic is just a glimpse. We may have to face even bigger disasters in the ensuing adverse times. However, no matter how big is the calamity, it can be overcome on the basis of devotion unto God. We have an ideal before us in the form of devotee Prahlad. To survive all calamities, those who are performing spiritual practice should increase it, and those who are not, should start performing spiritual practice right away !
