America awards Prime Minister Modi with ‘Legion of Merit’, the highest military decoration in the US

Washington (USA)– US President Donald Trump has presented Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the prestigious Legion of Merit for elevating the strategic partnership of both countries. Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, accepted the award on behalf of the Prime Minister, from the US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien at the White House. Along with PM Modi, The Legion of Merit was also presented to Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The Legion of Merit was established by the US Congress on 20th July 1942. This award is presented to uniformed US military service members and political figures of allied foreign governments for their exceptional service and achievements.
