Russia refuses US proposal to end war with Ukraine

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov

Moscow (Russia) – “We take seriously the suggestions and proposals made by the US regarding ending the ongoing war with Ukraine; however, in their current form, we cannot accept them,” said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov. He was speaking in an interview with International Affairs, a Russian periodical. This clearly indicates that the talks between America and Russia concerning ending the war have stalled.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appealed that Ukraine should give up its aspiration to join NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), reduce the size of its military, and hand over control of four regions to Russia. On the other hand, Ukraine maintains that these demands are equivalent to surrendering to Russia.
