Implement the dress code in accordance with the Indian culture all the temples in Maharashtra – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

Welcome to the decision to ban jeans and T-shirts in Government offices

Such a demand should be raised by every devout Hindu organisation and devout Hindus. In reality, Hindus do not need to make such a demand but the Government should voluntarily impose a dress code and earn well wishes of Hindus.

Mumbai – The Government of Maharashtra has recently implemented the dress Code in all Government offices in the State. Accordingly, officers and employees will no longer be allowed to wear jeans, T-shirts, brightly coloured or embroidered garments, as well as slippers. Only appropriate clothing is necessary. We welcome and congratulate this decision of the Government. A few days ago, the Shri Saibaba Sansthan in Shirdi had made a practical appeal to dress in a manner befitting Indian culture and decency. Against this backdrop, we are demanding that all temples in Maharashtra should implement a dress code in accordance with Indian culture and decency.

On behalf of the Samiti, a letter has been sent to the Chief Minister Mr. Uddhav Thackeray in this context. The letter further said that the implementation of the dress code in line with Indian culture would help maintain the sanctity and reverence of the temple. Indian textiles are more sattvik and civilised than Western ones. Also, wearing Indian clothes will not only promote our culture but also awaken self-esteem in the younger generation. It will also give a boost to the traditional textile industry. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has demanded that the State Government should take initiative for this.
