New Delhi – The Union Home Ministry has cancelled foreign exchange licence of 13 Christian missionaries and organisations carrying out religious conversion activities in tribal areas. The intelligence agencies have given information to the Union Home Ministry about the religious conversion activities of these institutions and organisations in some tribal dominated parts of various States, including Jharkhand. The bank accounts of these voluntary organisations and missionaries have been investigated, and at the same time issued a show cause notice to these missionaries asking them to show them the foreign exchange. For this, a moratorium of 6 months has been given. Even after that, if the explanation is found to be unsatisfactory, then the licence of accepting donations from abroad will be cancelled.
