Earlier governments of SP and Cong. considered building walls of Muslim graveyards as ‘secularism’ : Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has alleged that the previous governments of both the Samajwadi Party and the Congress ignored temples and development works. They considered spending public money on the walls of Muslim graveyards as ‘secularism’, while projects related to Hindu religious places were termed as ‘religious fanaticism’. Adityanath made this allegation while addressing a public event after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 82 development works worth Rs 542 crore in Barabanki.

He further said,

1. Building compound walls for graveyards became a criterion of secularism. Projects related to the Mahadev Temple in Barabanki, the Shriram Temple in Ayodhya and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple were denied support; because doing so was considered ‘religious fanaticism’.

2. The future of India is linked to the preservation of Sanatan Dharma. Our bright future is based on the strong foundation of Sanatan. If Sanatan Dharma is safe, then we are all safe. If Sanatan is threatened, then no one will be safe.

3. In the past, criminals in the State used to create terror among traders with the help of desi (locally made) weapons. Now, state-of-the-art Brahmos missiles are being manufactured in Lucknow.

Uproot the distorted form of secularism : Chief Minister

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Previous governments considered restrictions on Kavad Yatra, Shriram Navami processions, Janmashtami celebrations and Durga Puja pandals as symbols of secularism. If India wants to be safe, this distorted form of secularism must be uprooted.”
