Congressman Sanford Bishop appeals to the American people

Washington (USA) – We must stand firmly against Hinduphobia (hatred towards Hinduism). My state of Georgia became the first state in the United States to pass a resolution condemning hatred against Hinduism, said US Congressman Sanford Bishop.
Congressman Sanford Bishop made these remarks during a special programme organised within the premises of the US Congress in Washington, D.C., and also through his official social media account.
The State of Georgia had passed this resolution on 1 April 2023. A special global conference related to ‘Hindu Heritage Month’ was recently organised in the United States. During the programme, the contribution of the Hindu community to the progress of the country was recognised and honoured. Congressman Bishop was speaking on that occasion.
Bishop’s remarks came against the backdrop of attacks on Hindu temples in some American states in recent months and the increasing number of incidents of Hinduphobia.
