India rebukes Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Counci

New York (USA) – A country whose serving Defence Minister openly states that providing shelter to terrorists, training them, and using them is part of the country’s official policy is today portraying itself as a victim of terrorism. This is a contradiction that only Pakistan can demonstrate. Pakistan is a living example of “Frankenstein” (one suffering the consequences of the chaos it created itself), where that which it created has become the cause of its own destruction. In these words, India strongly rebuked Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council. Speaking at the 62nd session of the Council, Anupama Singh, Secretary in India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, completely rejected all claims made by Pakistan.
On this occasion, India also rejected all allegations made by Pakistan and regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Anupama Singh stated that the allegations made by Pakistan are baseless and malicious. Pakistan is indulging in such propaganda only to conceal its domestic failures and to continue supporting terrorism. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and will always remain so.
The 60-year-old Indus Waters Treaty Is now outdatedClarifying India’s position on the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, Anupama Singh stated that terrorism and cooperation cannot go hand in hand. A country that exports terrorism cannot simultaneously seek the benefits of an agreement founded on friendship and goodwill. Terrorism and cooperation cannot coexist. The treaty signed in 1960 cannot be regarded as a perpetual entitlement. The global situation has changed dramatically over the past 6 decades. Therefore, no technical agreement can remain in-force indefinitely. |
