Dhaka (Bangladesh) – A 15-year-old Hindu schoolgirl studying in Class 10 at Medhakul School in the Gournadi sub-district of Barisal district was recently kidnapped by jihadis. It is alleged that the victim was abducted with the intention of forcibly converting her to Islam.
The victim’s father, Dipak Sarkar, has lodged a complaint at the Gournadi Police Station against the accused Mohammad Ritaj, Mohammad Delwar Hussain and Mohammad Ratul Hussain. He has alleged that the police have failed to rescue his minor daughter.
In this case, office-bearers of an organisation working for the rights of minority Hindus contacted Barisal Police Superintendent Mohammad Mustafijur Rahman and demanded a thorough investigation. They expressed concern that the jihadis may forcibly convert the kidnapped Hindu girl.
They have also demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and the prompt rescue of the minor Hindu victim.
