Around 800 Pakistani terrorists preparing to infiltrate into India

About 70 terrorist launch pads active near the Kashmir border

New Delhi – According to Intelligence reports, Pakistan’s ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) along with its military, has reactivated approximately 70 terrorist launch pads along the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border. Around 800 terrorists are reportedly stationed at these locations, preparing for infiltration, raising concerns about escalating tensions.

Hamas-linked individuals being trained in Pakistani military establishments

Separately, Pakistani MP Mushahid Hussain Syed has claimed that individuals linked to Hamas are being trained in military establishments in Pakistan. He specifically mentioned the Pakistan Navy War College, stating that he personally encountered such individuals there.

According to Intelligence sources, terrorist groups in Pakistan have devised a new infiltration strategy, under which terrorists will be divided into smaller groups and sent simultaneously through different routes in Jammu & Kashmir. Each group may consist of around 10 to 15 well-trained and armed terrorists. The aim is to increase simultaneous activity across multiple locations and put pressure on Indian security forces. Notably, Pakistan has, for the first time, publicly acknowledged training elements linked to Hamas.

Launch pads had been shut down after Operation Sindoor

A March 2026 report of the USA Congressional Research Service (CRS) described Pakistan as a hub for anti-India terrorist organisations. This period is after Operation Sindoor in May 2025, which was conducted in response to the 22nd April 2025 Pahalgam attack. During that operation, 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were targetted. After the operation, launch pads were temporarily dismantled or relocated deeper inside. However, by late 2025 and early 2026, they were reportedly reactivated.

Attempt to exploit the situation in the Gulf region

Sources suggest that Pakistan is attempting to take advantage of ongoing instability in the Gulf region. Following setbacks after Operation Sindoor, terrorist groups have reportedly increased pressure on the ISI to intensify operations in Jammu and Kashmir. This may have contributed to the rise in the number of terrorists. In recent months, Indian security forces have foiled several infiltration attempts.
