Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh) – A suspicious death of a 35-year-old temple priest, Nayan Das, has come to light in Cox’s Bazar. On 22 April, his body was found hanging from a tree in a remote hilly area. Nayan Das was serving as a priest at a Nag Panchami temple and had been missing for the past three days.

According to his family, unknown individuals had called him out of his house on the night he went missing. He never returned thereafter. After extensive searching, the family lodged a complaint with the police. On the afternoon of 22 April, local residents discovered his body hanging from a tree in the hilly area behind the temple.

A scarf was found wrapped around his neck, raising suspicion of murder. Police officials have stated that the exact cause of death will be determined only after the post-mortem report is received. Investigations are currently underway to trace the unidentified individuals who had taken him from his residence.
