New Delhi – So far, only Indian citizens have died in the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. India has stated that this entire crisis can only be resolved through dialogue and peace. India has appealed to all countries to reduce tensions and find a solution through dialogue. At the initiative of Britain, an online meeting was organized in the presence of more than 60 countries to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri represented India in this meeting. So far, 3 Indian sailors have died in the Strait of Hormuz. All three were working on foreign ships.
1. It appears from this meeting that the efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz have begun without the USA. US President Trump had earlier distanced himself from the issue by saying that it was not his responsibility to open the Strait of Hormuz, but that the countries that trade through it should make the effort.
2. Against this backdrop, Britain has now taken the initiative to open the Hormuz. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has called a meeting of 35 countries in London. India has also been invited, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will participate in this meeting to be held this week.
3. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said that we are in touch with Iran.
4. French President Macron has supported Britain’s initiative on Hormuz. China’s Foreign Ministry has also supported this meeting.
