‘Bloodstains cannot be hidden by cricket jerseys ! Stop cricket matches with Pakistan immediately !’ : HJS

Demand to the Union Government through a protest by the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Pune

Pune, 13 February – Although Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has expressed readiness to play against India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled on 15 February 2026, India should not fall into this proposal. “Bloodstains cannot be hidden by cricket jerseys. Until cross-border terrorism stops, no relations should be maintained with Pakistan,” and the Union Government must adopt such a firm stand, was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti through a protest. This protest was held on 13 February at Rajaram Bridge, Sinhagad Road. Many patriotic citizens and devout Hindus were present for this protest.

Chartered accountant and advocate Sarvesh Mehendale, BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary Mrs Ujjwala Gaud, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti advocate Mrs Mugdha Bivalkar, HJS member Parag Gokhale, and Hindu Rashtra Samanvay Samiti Pune district coordinator Sachin Ghule, among other dignitaries, were present during the protest. The dignitaries strongly criticised Pakistan’s double standards and guided those present on how cancelling these cricket matches is essential for India’s self-respect. Sachin Ghule also demanded that not only now, but India should never play cricket matches with Pakistan in the future.

The HJS appealed to the government in strong words, stating, “Merely avoiding handshakes on the field as a form of protest is not enough; cricket matches with Pakistan must be completely stopped. Playing cricket while soldiers are shedding blood is a grave insult to them.”

Editorial Perspective

Why should such a demand even be necessary when terrorist attacks from Pakistan continue ? What patriotic citizens understand, why does the Board of Control for Cricket in India not understand the same ?
