India Trying to Intimidate Muslims in Kashmir by Collecting Information about Mosques and Madarasas

Pak accuses India

Islamabad (Pakistan) – India is compiling all details of mosques and madarasas in Jammu-Kashmir, to which Pakistan has raised objections. The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has issued a statement accusing that such an action is the violation of religious freedom. Pakistan has accused that open interference in religious matters is a serious breach of fundamental rights of freedom to follow one’s religion and faith. It is another attempt to intimidate Muslims in Jammu-Kashmir and to push them aside.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry has stated that collection of personal information, photos and sectarian affiliation of imams, mosque committees, etc., is a systematic oppression, carried out with the purpose of creating fear amongst the followers of that religion and obstacles in the freedom of following their religion. Pakistan will always support Kashmiri people with unity and raise voice against all types of religious oppression targeting them.

Editorial Perspective

  • India needs to strongly warn Pakistan that Jammu-Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan has no right to tell India what should be done or not done there.
  • Why India doesn’t take up Pakistan related issues such as protection of Hindus in that country ?
