Bengaluru / Mysuru (Karnataka) – The Karnataka State Home Department has prepared a list of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators. According to the report, the government has identified a total of 13,675 infiltrators residing in the State. The highest number, 10,650, are residing in the capital, Bengaluru. This is followed by Mysuru (810), Belagavi (458), Dakshina Kannada (268), and Ramanagara (191). The report also states that infiltrators are residing in several other districts.
Following rumours that Bangladeshi infiltrators were arriving in Mysuru, the Railway Police have stepped up vigilance at Mysuru Railway Station. Passengers travelling on the Howrah Express from West Bengal were verified. Earlier, a major controversy had erupted after passengers arriving from West Bengal were accused of being Bangladeshi infiltrators. However, document verification established that none of them were Bangladeshi infiltrators.
