Terrorist arrested in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the Amarnath Yatra

Accused of working for Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) – Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to commence on 3 July, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have achieved a major breakthrough. Police arrested a terrorist identified as Haji Latief from Kathua. He is accused of having worked for the terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba for the past 20 years.

1. He is alleged to have helped more than 12 Pakistani terrorists infiltrate into Indian territory.

2. He was also directly linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He allegedly provided hideouts and vehicles to terrorists who had infiltrated into India. Following his arrest, security agencies are conducting an intensive interrogation.

3. Additional troops have been deployed across Jammu and Kashmir to ensure the security of the Amarnath Yatra. Mock drills are being conducted at various locations to prepare for possible terrorist incidents and ensure the safety of pilgrims.
