Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Athavale

The rising Sun dispels darkness, and the rising Moon brings joy. On 6th May 1942, time gave birth to a great individual. Like the Sun, this great Being Incarnated to destroy the darkness of unrighteousness and to establish Sanatan Dharmarajya (The Divine Rule or the ‘Hindu Rashtra’). Like the Moon, He Incarnated to shower seekers and devotees with the delightful grace of the Guru and to grant them Moksha (Final Liberation).

We present here an excerpt from the Biography of that great Being – Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Balaji Athavale (addressed respectfully as ‘Gurudev’). The Co-compiler of this Biography is Sanatan’s Saint – Pujya Sandeep Gajanan Alshi. The prime objective of this Biography is that humankind should understand Gurudev’s greatness, perform sadhana (Spiritual practice) according to His guidance, and experience Anand (Bliss).

The Sages of ancient Bharat were called ‘Drashta’ (Seers), because through their Prajnachakshu (Vision through pure intellect), they perceived realities beyond the boundaries of time and revealed them for the welfare of Creation. In the same way, every word of Sachchidananda Parabrahman (Dr) Jayant Athavale (Gurudev) becomes a Brahmavakya (Divine pronouncement). Innumerable seekers experience this truth in their daily lives. Gurudev foretold many events from the samashti perspective, which later unfolded exactly as He had said. A few of these statements are presented in this Article. From these, it becomes evident that addressing Gurudev as a modern-day Sage would not be an exaggeration.

Abide by Dharma to increase spiritual strength for establishing the ‘Hindu Rashtra’

History teaches us that Divine strength alone brings about the establishment of Dharma. Bhagawan Shrikrushna bestowed spiritual strength upon the Pandavas; Goddess Bhavani bestowed spiritual strength upon Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. An Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay will be established !

Statement : One day, an Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay (University of Spirituality) will be established. Those who graduate from this will be Saints – they will require no paper certificates ! (1989)

Explanation : From 1987 onward, Gurudev began conducting sessions on Spirituality for seekers and the spiritual aspirants in Maharashtra and Goa. Just two years later, while speaking to a seeker, He spoke about the establishment of an Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay. On 22.3.2014, with the Divine objective of imparting knowledge on various Paths of God-realisation, the Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay Trust was founded. Gurudev Himself is the founder of the Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay.

Saints of Sanatan will lead the mission of spreading Spirituality in every District

Statement : Param Pujya (Dr) Athavale had said years ago – ‘In the future, Saints from among our seekers will be present in every District, and they will shoulder the responsibility of the Sanstha’s mission of spreading Spirituality’. – Mr Abhay Vartak (Spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, 4.8.2015)

Explanation : As of August 2025, through sadhana under the guidance of Sanatan Sanstha, 134 seekers have attained Sainthood, and 1,032 seekers are progressing towards Sainthood. Many of Sanatan’s Dharmapracharaks are Saints. Since Saints possess Dharma-Tej (Spiritual radiance) and their speech is Chaitanya-enriched, their propagation of Dharma is more effective.

Foresight about the adverse times and Gurudev’s guidance on remedial measures

1. Statement : A destructive World War 3 will take place. Begin sadhana now to prepare & strengthen your mind !’ (Statement made during public meetings in 1998)

Explanation : Since 1998, Gurudev has repeatedly emphasised that there is no alternative to sadhana for facing the coming adverse times. Through the ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ Periodicals He continually guides seekers with Divine thoughts, such as – ‘Dedicate yourself to the mission of Dharma. Worship God with devotion and become His devotee’.

To help seekers maintain positivity and courage even in difficult times, He devised the unique Autosuggestion technique, which reduces the intensity of personality defects and ego, and enables one to remain stable and face adverse conditions.

Today, when the world is under the shadow of World War 3, it becomes evident how foresighted Gurudev’s guidance has been in creating seriousness about sadhana amongst seekers.

2. Statement : Soon adverse times will arrive as per kalmahatmya (Significance of that particular time). The environment will be unfavourable for satseva and sadhana. The intensity of adverse times will increase so much that seekers will find it difficult even to step out to propagate Spirituality. (2000)

Explanation : At the end of 2019, the world was struck by Covid-19 caused by the coronavirus. By March 2020, the Government of India had imposed nationwide lockdowns prohibiting travel, gatherings, and public events. As a result, seekers faced numerous restrictions in performing satsevas such as holding satsangs and discourses, meeting well-wishers and followers of Dharma, and propagation of Spirituality.

3. Statement : Prepare yourself physically, psychologically, and spiritually to face the adverse times ! (2013)

Explanation : Gurudev’s uniqueness lies in His comprehensiveness – He never merely stopped at asking seekers to prepare to face the adverse times, He also detailed the action required. Through the ‘Sanatan Prabhat’, He elaborated how to prepare at the physical, psychological, family, financial, and spiritual levels. He also compiled two essential Texts -‘Daily efforts required to survive during the adverse times’ and ‘Psychological and spiritual efforts required to bear the adverse times’.

Anticipating medical crises, He compiled invaluable practical Texts on First-aid training, Cultivating medicinal plants, Acupressure remedies, Chant remedies, Pranashakti (Chetana) flow system remedies, and Spiritual healing through empty boxes – all of which will serve as lifelines in the adverse times.

In 2019, Maharashtra and Karnataka witnessed torrential rains, floods; in 2020, society suffered greatly due to the coronavirus pandemic. After these, many people truly realised the importance of preparing for times of calamity.

4. Statement : In a future war, a country will mistakenly drop a bomb on its own territory. (2022)

Explanation : A year ago, I met Param Pujya (Dr) Athavale. Clarifying one of my doubts, He said, “In a future war, a country will mistakenly drop a bomb on its own territory”. Words spoken casually by a Brahmavid (Knower of Brahman) can never be untrue. I witnessed this myself when, during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, the Russian forces mistakenly bombed their own region, causing severe destruction. – Pujya (Dr) Shibnarayan Sen (Editor, Weekly Truth, Kolkata, Bengal, May 2023)

A ‘Hindu Rashtra’ will be established in Bharat (India)

Statement : To eliminate the plight of the Nation & Dharma, a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ is necessary ! (1998)

Explanation : Between 1990 and 2000, Bharat saw the excesses of secularism, and a decline in Dharma – terrorism, naxalism, minority appeasement, evil tendencies in Hindu festivals, mockery of Deities, perverse tendency of drawing obscene pictures of Deities, sacrificing faith in the name of superstition, hooliganism, and rapes were widespread. At a time when no one even thought of an ideal Nation, Gurudev first gave the clarion call to eliminate the plight of the Nation & Dharma – A Divine Rule is required ! (1998) In 1999, through His Marathi Text – ‘Ishwari Rajyachi Sthapana’, He elaborated on the concept of a Nation with Spirituality as its foundation.

Since society’s sattvikata was low at that time, people could not comprehend the concept of Ishwari Rajya (Divine Rule). Hence, Gurudev adopted the intermediate goal of establishing the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ as the first stage of the Divine Rule. This vision has transformed into a national movement, embraced by Bharatiyas everywhere.

Confirmations of this prophecy came through several sources : Shri Dev Halsiddhanath of Shri Kshetra Kurli (Taluka Nipani, District Belagavi, Karnataka) in 2012 and 2019 through Bhakanuk (Prophetic revelations of God through a devotee in a symbolic language), the Maharshis through Jeevanadipatti in 2015, Yogatadnya Param Pujya Dadaji Vaishampayan in 2014, and many other Saints, who affirmed the same revelation.

Divine children will take birth from higher regions to lead the future ‘Hindu Rashtra’

Statement : Souls from higher regions such as Swargalok, Maharlok, Janalok and Tapolok will take birth to perform sadhana and lead the future ‘Hindu Rashtra’ ! (2003)

Explanation : A. From 2009 onward, it was observed that children of some Sanatan seekers exhibited extraordinary traits, an innate intellect maturity, affinity for sattvikata, and attraction to God. Upon studying these traits, it was revealed that these children had taken birth from higher regions such as Swargalok and Maharlok. On 5.5.2017, Sanatan’s first child-Saint, Pujya Bhargavram Prabhu, was born. At birth itself, His spiritual level was 71% – that of a Saint. As of August 2025, Gurudev has identified 2 child-Saints, 199 children above the spiritual level of 60%, and 992 other Divine children.

B. ‘Paratpar Guru (Dr) Athavale had foretold that Divine souls will take birth from higher regions to establish and sustain the Dharma Rajya (‘Hindu Rashtra’).
