On the occasion of the Shankhnaad Festival, the gun of Mangal Pandey and a cannon from the Battle of Panipat to be displayed in Delhi for the first time!

Live demonstration of the cannon will be showcased!

Indraprastha (New Delhi), 12 December (Correspondent): An unparalleled event symbolizing the confluence of devotion and strength in Indian history is taking shape in the nation’s capital, Delhi, also known as Indraprastha.

Presented by Save Culture, Save Bharat Foundation and organized by Sanatan Sanstha, the ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnaad Mahotsav’ will, for the first time, display before the people of Delhi the gun used by Mangal Pandey, the pioneering revolutionary of the first revolt of 1857, as well as guns used by Malharrao Holkar of the royal Holkar dynasty of Madhya Pradesh and revolutionary Nana Patil. Additionally, cannons from the Battle of Panipat along with 1,500 rare weapons will also be on display. This festival will offer a unique experience blending the radiant history of valour with energizing spirituality, informed Sanatan Sanstha spokesperson Shri Abhay Vartak.

In the exhibition titled ‘Swarajyacha Shauryanaad’, a grand collection of over 1,500 historical weapons from the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be showcased before the people of Delhi for the first time. Weapons personally touched by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, along with arms from the periods of Maharana Pratap and the Vijayanagara Empire, will also be displayed.

This is not merely an exhibition of weapons; to inspire young children, some weapons will be made available for handling, which is a special feature of this exhibition. A live demonstration explaining how a cannon is fired will also be presented. This weapons exhibition will be open to all from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hall No. 12 of Bharat Mandapam.

Demonstrations of Manipur’s ancient martial art ‘Thang-Ta’!

The festival will also feature demonstrations of Thang-Ta, an ancient martial art from Manipur. Historically, this martial art was used to protect the land and culture from invaders. It also holds special significance at the international level.

A rare opportunity to witness the Somnath Jyotirlinga relics!

For the first time in Delhi, devotees will have the opportunity to witness the relics of the original Somnath Jyotirlinga, preserved for over a thousand years. These sacred remnants, which were destroyed by Mahmud of Ghazni, were safeguarded by a priestly family in Tamil Nadu and are now being made available for public viewing through Sanatan Sanstha under the guidance of the Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth.

Through the ‘Sanatan Rashtra Shankhnaad Mahotsav’, an effort is being made to ignite the spirit of national defence, culture, valour and Hindu sovereignty.
