Sydney (Australia) – The Australian Government has ordered the Iranian ambassador to leave the country within 7 days. It has also declared the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a branch of Iran’s military, a ‘terrorist organization’.
Australia has expelled a foreign ambassador for the first time since World War II. The decision was taken in the wake of a plot by the IRGC to attack Australia’s Jewish community, Australian intelligence agencies said.

1.In October 2024, there was an attack on ‘Lewis Continental Kitchen’ in Sydney and in December 2024, there was an attack on the Adas Israel synagogue in Melbourne. Australia called both these incidents to be coordinated terrorist attacks. The ‘IRGC’ was declared a terrorist organization following intelligence reports.
2.This decision is consistent with the policies of the United States and Europe; as the United States has already declared the IRGC a ‘Foreign Terrorist Organization’.
