Dhaka (Bangladesh) – “We will carry out large-scale massacres during the upcoming general elections,” threatened the extremist Islamic organisation Jamaat-e-Islami. Shafiqur Rahman, the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, warned of widespread violence on polling day. According to Weekly Blitz, a Bangladeshi weekly, Shafiqur Rahman has cautioned that if the election and the referendum are held on the same day, the situation will spiral out of control. He claimed this could even lead to genocide.

Bangladeshi journalist Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury stated that the activities of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and the rally organized by Jamaat could create instability in Bangladesh. Money, weapons, and explosives are allegedly being distributed to spread chaos before the elections. It is also being claimed that an ISI team visited the Kosba region and met some terrorists from India.

Green signal from Muhammad Yunus !

Muhammad Yunus

Jamaat-e-Islami has contested many elections earlier, but it has faced serious allegations due to its involvement in violence. During former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s tenure, several restrictions were imposed on Jamaat-e-Islami, significantly limiting its activities. However, last year, the interim Government formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus lifted these restrictions. As a result, Jamaat has recently been holding rallies and marches to demonstrate its strength.

Editorial Perspective

If such extremist Muslims hold this mindset even toward an Islamic country, then how would it be toward Hindu-majority India ? The answer is obvious !
