Trinamool Congress worker arrested for desecrating Kali Mata’s Idol in Bengal

Kolkata (Bengal) – Police have arrested Narayan Haldar, a Trinamool Congress worker, for desecrating the Idol of Kali Mata in Kakdwip town of South 24 Parganas district. The arrest was made based on confidential information. During police interrogation, the accused admitted that he had broken the Idol while in an intoxicated state.

Police stated that there was no political or religious motive behind the act. However, Narayan’s father, Bhupati, told a news channel that both he and his son are supporters of the Trinamool Congress. He also claimed that 7–8 people were involved in breaking the Idol, yet the police have targeted only his son.
