New Delhi – “In my opinion, our foreign policy should be focused on our neighbours first. Can we really improve relations with our neighbours ? I have been to Pakistan. I want to say that I felt at home there. I have also been to Bangladesh and Nepal, and I felt at home there, too. I did not feel that I was on foreign soil”, said Sam Pitroda, the Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress (Congress’s foreign wing). Sam Pitroda said in an interview with a news agency that he does not feel threatened by China. “The idea of ​​China being an enemy is often exaggerated because the US tends to consider other countries as enemies. In my opinion, the times must change now. Countries should cooperate, avoid conflict. Our approach has already been confrontational, and this approach creates enemies. We have to change this mindset and stop believing that China has been an enemy since day one”, Pitroda has said.
