Washington (US) – “I think the agreement reached with Iran is now over. Holding talks with them is merely a waste of time,” US President Donald Trump said while announcing that the ceasefire agreement had come to an end.
Speaking at a press conference, Trump said, “Iran did not honour the terms of the agreement. They are liars. We had reached an agreement that everyone had accepted. It was clearly decided that nuclear weapons would not be developed. However, after the agreement was concluded, they went before the media and claimed that this issue had never been discussed. There is definitely something wrong with them. They have gone completely crazy.”
According to experts, Trump’s announcement could further worsen the situation in the Gulf region. The region is already witnessing tensions over missile attacks, drone attacks and maritime security. In such a situation, if military action between the two countries intensifies again, it could also affect global energy supplies and international trade.
