Oncologist and Director of ‘Astha Cancer Institute’ Dr Taran Krishna’s appeal

Mumbai – Cooking acidic foods like tomatoes, lemons and tamarind in aluminium utensils in the kitchen can dissolve aluminium. Excessive continuous usage of aluminum can adversely affect the body and lead to serious diseases such as cancer. Therefore, avoid using them, said oncologist and director of ‘Astha Cancer Institute’, Dr Tarang Krishna said in an interview. He also explained that certain items in the kitchen double the risk of cancer.
Do not use Teflon coating non-stick utensils !
According to Dr Tarang Krishna, Teflon coating non-stick utensils should also not be used; that’s because cooking over high flame can release harmful gases. It also damages Teflon, which can lead to a number of dangerous diseases.
Do not rub non-stick utensils with steel scrub !
If you wash non-stick utensils with a steel stick, chemicals start to release. When you cook food in it again, you’re preparing poison, which mixes with food.
Plastic utensils increase the risk of cancer !
Plastic utensils increase the risk of serious diseases such as cancer; this is because when heated or used in the microwave, dangerous chemicals like ‘BPA’ can be released from it. These chemicals can affect your body and cause health problems in the long run.
Always use brass and iron utensils for cooking !
Dr Tarang Krishna advised to always use brass and iron utensils for cooking.
