Pro-Hindu organisations oppose Muslims making Ganesh idols as they reject idol worship

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – Some pro-Hindu organisations here have appealed that only Hindu idol makers should make and sell Ganesh idols. In this regard, an organization called ‘Sanskruti Bachao Manch’ has also started inspecting shops and workshops. On the other hand, Muslim idol makers say that ‘They have been doing this business for generations. However, some groups are deliberately trying to spoil the atmosphere.’

Sanskruti Bachao Manch’s stand

Devout Hindus of Sanskriti Bachao Manch said that those who have no faith in God and idol worship cannot be trusted. The organisation’s position is that people should buy idols only from shopkeepers who clearly write their name and religion on the board.

Support from local BJP MLA

BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma has supported this campaign. He said ‘If they do not believe in idol worship, why should they make and sell idols? First have faith, then make a living from this work. Today, some radical Muslims are spreading diseases through spit in the society. Due to this, it is not possible to trust what will be mixed in the clay and paint of the idol.’

Deliberate attempt to create Hindu-Muslim tension : Muslim idol makers allege

Muslim idol makers in Bhopal opposed this stand of devout Hindus and said that Hindus print our religious books. We have never objected to it. (It does not mean that Hindus should not object – Editor).We have been making idols on a large scale for years. Now some groups are deliberately stirring up the atmosphere by raising Hindu-Muslim issues. Making idols is our traditional profession. Now there is an attempt to divide this profession on the basis of religion, and this may increase tension in society. (Hindus have doubts whether Muslim idol makers are trying to corrupt Ganesh idols. Please note that by not speaking about it, the tension is being created by Muslims themselves – Editor).
