Spending exceeds GDP !
The U.S. government is currently spending 44% more than its annual production (GDP). This rate is higher than during World War II and even surpasses the 2008 Great Recession levels. Alongside soaring debt, the fiscal deficit has also grown sharply, currently standing at $1.63 trillion, which is about ₹140 lakh crore.
