Bareilly (UP) – A case has been registered against Rajneesh Gangvar, a teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Inter College by the Police after a complaint by Mahakal Seva Samiti. In a viral video the teacher is seen singing a song to the students with the lyrics containing meaning against kavad yatra.

🛕 Hindu groups say this insults devotees – equating Kawad Yatra with ignorance?
🤔 Would the teacher dare say the same about other faiths?

So called justification by the teacher, “sang only to encourage students”
Rajneesh Gangvar tried to prove his innocence by saying, “It was only to encourage the students to pursue education. I am not against any religion.”
Dist. School Inspector Dr Ajit Kumar Singh said, “I have investigated the video. The intentions of the teacher were not wrong. It is an old video which has been dug out to create dispute deliberately.”
Editorial PerspectiveWhat is the connection between carrying kavad and lighting the lamp of knowledge ? Does it imply that those who join kavad yatra are illiterate ? Will these teachers dare make such statement against other religions ? |
