16 goats were confined and were also about to be slaughtered

Mumbai – Slaughterhouses are prohibited within a 10 Km radius of the airport. Despite this, a slaughterhouse was being operated by Firoz Qureshi at Rajmahal Building near the Jogeshwari Highway, close to the Mumbai airport. A case has been registered against him at the Jogeshwari Police station.
A mutton shop owner was arrested for storing 16 goats in a godown under repair in Jogeshwari (East), based on a complaint by Police constable Dattatray Antarkar from Jogeshwari Police Station, Police said. Charges were filed against Firoz Qureshi, 58, for illegally storing the goats and violating regulations. The investigation commenced on 15th June. The illegal butchering of goats at Munna Mutton Shop was happening in Jogeshwari (East). Based on the information, the Police team visited the location and discovered sixteen goats stored on the premises. The goats have been handed over to the Shriramkrushna Gaushala Trust in Bhiwandi.
