Spiritual benefit received through spiritual practice is independent of gender

To study if the spiritual benefit to an individual performing spiritual practice is dependent on the gender, a study was conducted by Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay using the Universal Aura Scanner (UAS). This research has received ‘Outstanding Presentation Award’ in The 8th International World Conference on Women’s Studies (WCWS), held in Sri Lanka ! Sachchidanand Parabrahman Dr. Athavale is the author of this research paper, Mr. Sean Clarke being the co-author.

To study scientifically whether the spiritual benefit an individual performing spiritual practice receives, depends on the gender of the individual, a study was conducted by ‘Maharshi Adhyatma Vishwavidyalay’ on 27th April 2022. In this study, 2 female participants and 2 male participants, without spiritual distress (Note 1), totally 4 participants were selected. Each group comprised of two participants, female and male depending on their spiritual level (Note 2) being more or less than 60 percent. Each participant  was asked to chant ‘Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya’ with concentration. UAS readings were taken before and after the chanting. The analysis of the observations in the study is given ahead.

Note 1 – Spiritual distress : Having spiritual distress means that there are negative vibrations in the individual. Negative vibrations less than 30 percent indicate mild spiritual distress, 30 to 49 indicate medium distress and more than 50 percent indicate severe spiritual distress. Spiritual distress is due to spiritual reasons like destiny, ancestors’ distress, etc. Spiritual distress can be understood by Saints and seekers capable of perceiving the subtle dimension.

Note 2 – Spiritual level : If God’s spiritual level is considered 100 percent and the level of non-living objects is considered as 1 percent, then the spiritual level of a common man is 20 percent. By doing spiritual practice, when spiritual level becomes 60 percent,  the person starts getting detached from the Great Illusion (Maya), dissolution of his mind begins and he is able to imbibe the thoughts from the Cosmic Consciousness. After death, he is liberated from the cycle of birth and death and attains a place in the Maharloka. Individuals with spiritual level of more than 70 percent are called ‘Saints’.

1. Observations in the  study

Components Before / After chanting Negative Energy Aura (Metre) Positive Energy Aura (Metre)
Group 1 Spiritual level being less than 60 percent
1.  Female participant Before 10.74 17.62
After 4.58 34.35
1. Male participant   Before 8.16 17.58
After 4.05 27.88
Group 2 Spiritual level being more than 60 percent
1. Female participant Before 6.55 38.50
After 0 76.20
2. Male participant Before 7.30 34.04
After 0 61.60

2. Analysis of the observations in the study : The following points become apparent from the observations in the table.

2 A. After chanting, reduction in negative energy auras in participants with spiritual level less than 60 percent : The observations of those with a spiritual level of less than 60 percent in ‘Group 1’, before chanting, show that the female participant’s negative energy aura was slightly higher than the male participant’s aura, while the positive energy auras of both were roughly the same.

After chanting there was a reduction in negative energy auras of male and female participants and a significant increase in positive energy auras. The reduction in the negative energy auras and the increase in the positive energy auras for the female participants were slightly higher than those of the male participants.

2 B. After chanting, negative energy auras of those with spiritual level above 60 percent completely nullified : Observations of those with spiritual level above 60 percent in ‘Group 2’ showed that, the negative energy auras of female participants before chanting were slightly less than those of male participants, while the positive energy auras of the female participants were slightly more.

After chanting, the negative energy auras of both male and female participants were nullified and their positive energy auras increased a lot. The increase in positive energy auras for the female participants were slightly greater compared to those for the male participants.

2 C. Spiritual benefits of spiritual practice are gender independent : Observations of all four components of the study do not show differences in the amount of negative or positive energy auras between male and female participants based on gender alone.

3. No difference in spiritual benefits from  spiritual practice on the basis of gender alone :

As the one doing spiritual practice could be of either gender the spiritual benefits from spiritual practice are independent of their gender. Those with fewer personality defects (for example restlessness) and more qualities complementary to spiritual practice (for example concentration); that is those with a higher spiritual level get more spiritual benefit from spiritual practice. This was apparent from this study
